Had my first day of class on Monday from 10 until 3:30 with a break for lunch. So far it is challenging, but luckily the other students are at about my level and the class is small.

After class took a long walk over to the Prado area and went to the Botanical Gardens.
Some of my favorite pictures from the garden:
Tuesday I had class again until the afternoon. I wanted to go out and see the sights before everything started closing, so I went back to my room quickly and was back out again. I ended up at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, which is across the street from what I imagine is the much more crowded Prado with a nice, not overwhelmingly large collection and maybe most importantly... air conditioning.

Great photo of the bear and the tree, an iconic landmark. The ornate building in the last photo reminds me of the post office where I left a favorite fountain pen in 1975. It was an orange Shaeffer. Would you mind gong in and asking if anyone turned it in?
ReplyDeleteI love that you got a sandwich at the Museo de Jamon!
Oops - Museo DEL Jamon - wish I knew how to do accent marks on this thing.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA I am sure that they have been holding on to that pen for you.
ReplyDeleteMuseo del Jamon is the best. So cheap!
